Terms of Service
Effective 10 August 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and SEAD Nomads, which operates this site and the membership platform. Buying a membership or using the platform means you accept them. Please read the two sections that limit our liability — 11 and 12 — as carefully as the rest.
1. What the service is
SEAD Nomads is a platform for people building a location-independent income in Southeast Asia. A free account gives you the members' community, a profile page, the Meetups board and the destination Guides, which are open to everyone whether you have an account or not.
A paid membership adds the Skills Library, the Templates, the full portfolio page and member perks in the partner directory, plus whatever we add while your membership is active.
Parts of it are still being built, and we say so plainly on the site rather than implying otherwise. We may add, change or withdraw individual features. If we withdraw something substantial that you paid for, section 8 explains what happens.
2. Who can join
You must be at least 16, able to enter a binding contract where you live, and not barred from receiving the service under any law that applies to you. Your account is yours alone: don't share your sign-in link or let anyone else use your access. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has got into your account.
3. Membership and rates
Membership is one tier. Founding members — the first hundred seats — pay the founding rate, and that rate is held for as long as the membership stays continuously active, even after the standard rate applies to everyone else. New members joining after the founding seats are gone pay the standard rate published on the site at the time they join.
The founding rate is tied to a continuous membership, not to you personally. If a founding membership lapses or is cancelled, rejoining later is at the rate then current.
We may change the standard rate for new members at any time. We will not raise the rate of an active founding membership.
4. Payment
Payments are processed by Gumroad. Your purchase is therefore also subject to Gumroad's own terms, and your card details are given to Gumroad rather than to us — we never see them.
Memberships bill on a recurring basis, annually or monthly, at the rate shown when you bought. Renewal is automatic until you cancel. You can cancel at any time through Gumroad; cancelling stops the next charge and leaves access running to the end of the period you have already paid for. Prices are shown in US dollars and exclude any tax that your country requires Gumroad to add.
5. Refunds
Seven days, money back, no questions asked. Ask within seven days of your first payment and we refund it in full. You don't have to give a reason.
Refund requests after that window, and requests on a renewal rather than a first payment, are at our discretion. Refunding a membership closes the access it paid for.
6. How to behave here
The community is the part of this that is hardest to replace and easiest to wreck, so the rules are firm:
- No harassment, threats, hate speech, or going after someone for who they are.
- No spam, chain pitches, unsolicited DMs to members you found here, or recruiting people into unrelated schemes.
- No posting other people's private information.
- No illegal content, and nothing that infringes someone else's rights.
- No scraping, bulk-exporting, or automated collection of member content.
- Don't misrepresent who you are or what you have achieved.
Post in good faith, and assume it of others.
7. Moderation
Moderators may pin, lock, edit or delete any post or reply, and may suspend or close an account, where these terms are broken or where a thread has stopped being useful. We aim to explain moderator action to the member affected, but we do not guarantee notice in advance, and we are not obliged to publish our reasoning to anyone else.
8. Intellectual property
Everything we publish on the platform — lessons, guides, templates, video, graphics, the SEAD Nomads name and marks — belongs to us or our licensors, and is licensed to you for your own personal use while your membership is active.
You may use the templates in your own work and your own client projects. You may not republish, resell, syndicate, share your access to, or feed our content into a product or training set that competes with us, and you may not remove attribution from anything that carries it.
What you post stays yours. By posting it you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store it and display it to other members for as long as you leave it up, so that the community can function.
9. Ending it
You can stop at any time by cancelling through Gumroad; see section 4 for what happens to the rest of the period.
We may set your membership inactive — which closes access to the member area, keeping the account record — if a payment fails or is reversed, if a refund is issued, or if you break these terms. For anything other than serious misconduct we will contact you first and give you a chance to put it right.
Sections 8, 11, 12 and 13 survive the end of your membership.
10. Third-party services and links
The platform links to services we do not run — Gumroad, the open community on PryviTalk, co-working spaces, venues and tools named in the guides. We are not responsible for them, their content or their terms, and naming one is not a warranty about it.
11. What we don't promise
The platform is provided as it is, and as it is available. To the fullest extent the law allows, we exclude all implied warranties, including those of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
In particular: we do not promise you an income. The Skills Library teaches an approach that has worked for us and for members, but what you earn depends on your work, your market, your timing and factors none of us control. Nothing on this site is a guarantee of earnings, and nothing here is legal, tax, financial, immigration or medical advice. Visa, tax and travel information in the Guides is general, changes often, and must be checked against official sources before you rely on it.
We do not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that information in it is complete or current.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost income, lost data or lost opportunity, however caused.
Our total liability to you for any claim connected to the platform is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Some jurisdictions do not allow some of these exclusions, in which case they apply to you only as far as that jurisdiction permits.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the Philippines, and the courts of the Philippines have jurisdiction over any dispute, without displacing any consumer protection you have where you live.
14. Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms. The effective date at the top changes when we do, and we will notify active members by email of any change that materially affects your rights. Continuing to use the platform after a change means you accept the revised terms. If you do not, cancel — and if the change materially disadvantages you mid-term, write to us and we will refund the unused part of the period.
15. General
If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest stands. Our not enforcing a term is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer your membership; we may transfer this agreement as part of a sale or reorganisation of the business. These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between us about the platform.
